Following the success of the 2022 – 2023 City Centre and High Streets Culture & Events Programme, Bristol City Council have secured an additional £170,000 of funding to extend the Culture & Events Programme.
From the summer of 2024 through to February 2025, the money will be used to fund activity in three city centre areas:
- Christmas Steps
- Old Market
- Stokes Croft
The aim of the programme is to attract more families and visitors to these areas and increase the amount of time and money they spend, helping to support the local economy and businesses.
To make sure funding is put to best use, they would like to hear your thoughts and ideas on:
- What makes these places special?
- How can we celebrate cultural diversity?
- What would you like to see on offer during the day and night?
BCC are running some face-to-face and one online event to gather thoughts and ideas. If you live, or your business or organisation is based in any of the areas, or you are an arts, events or cultural organisation, you are invited to join for a collaborative discussion at one of the following times:
Tuesday 12 March
2.30pm – 4.30pm, Hamilton House, 80 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3QY
6pm – 8pm, Trinity Arts Centre, Trinity Road, Bristol, BS2 0NW
Wednesday 13 March
10.30am – 12.30pm, Chance & Counters, 20 Christmas Steps, Bristol, BS1 5BS
Thursday 14 March
10am – 11am, Online, Zoom meeting
